When we work together, the focus is entirely on you and your baby, no rushing, no pressure. I offer home-based visits so you can relax in your own familiar surroundings, without the added stress of travelling with a newborn or trying to time a feed just right. Being in your own space allows us to meet in a calm, unhurried way and creates the freedom for you to talk openly and honestly about your experience so far.
Meeting at home also means that any assessment takes place in the environment where feeding naturally happens, giving me the most accurate picture of how things are going day to day, and ensuring my support is truly tailored to your reality.
We’ll begin with an open conversation about your feeding journey. You’re welcome to share anything that feels important, whether that includes details of the birth, current worries, or goals for the future. Understanding your unique story helps me offer care that’s both skilled and sensitive.
If your baby is ready to feed, I’ll observe and gently guide you through adjustments to support a deeper latch, more effective feeding, and greater comfort for you both. We’ll also explore a range of feeding positions to help you find what feels natural and sustainable for your body and baby.
I’ll check how well your baby is transferring milk and support you in recognising signs of good intake. This can make a real difference to your confidence and help us troubleshoot any issues like weight concerns or supply worries. If needed, we’ll create a clear and realistic plan that fits your family life.
As part of the session, I’ll carry out a gentle oral assessment to check tongue movement and function. If there’s any indication of a possible tongue tie or restriction, I can support you with a referral and offer simple oral exercises to enhance your baby’s feeding skills.
Pumping, expressing and combination feeding can all be discussed if relevant to you.
Above all, my aim is to listen, support, and guide you in a way that feels respectful and empowering, helping you move forward with clarity, reassurance, and confidence.
